William Robertson Knothe , 79

Troy William Robertson Knothe , 79 ,of Troy, died Saturday, December 18, 2004 at Eddy Heritage House Nursing Center in Troy after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Louis F. Knothe and Helen (Robertson) Knothe and husband of Raffaella Buonocore Knothe.

He was raised in Troy and graduated from Troy Public School 18 and Troy High School class of 1944.

Bill was an Army veteran of World War II serving in Italy, a Mason many years ago and a member of the Troy Senior Center.

For many years, Bill was store manager at several Troy grocery businesses, Saratoga County circulation manager for the Troy Record and manager for the Lum's Restaurants in Saratoga and Glens Falls.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three sons, Frederick A. Knothe (Lisa) of Verona, NJ, Stephen J. Knothe of NYC and William A. Knothe (Kathleen) of Rochester; three daughters, Mary C. Peper (Wayne)of Schodack, Kathryn Sheehan (Robert) of Troy and Deborah Clements (David) of Brunswick; a sister, Jane Gibson Printsky (Louis) of Troy; 14 grandchildren; a great grandson; a niece, Diane Devoid of Long Valley, NJ and a nephew, David Gibson of Troy.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Randall Patterson, Pastor of Our Lady of Victory Church, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Troy. Special thanks to the staff of the Eddy Heritage House for their loving care with special thanks to Karen Gilligan and her wonderful second floor staff.
