L. Craig Bryce, grandson of the founder, Lowell H. Bryce, was fortunate to work with his father, Merrick for 30 years and with his mother, Helen. A graduate of Troy High School, ‘71, Grahm Junior College in Boston, radio and tv communications and Hudson Valley Community College, ‘75, Mortuary Science. Licensed since 1976. Has a strong commitment to the Troy and the Sand Lake areas and has been a member of many volunteer organizations including Northeast Health, Sand Lake Education Foundation, Sand Lake Arts, United Way, Kiwanis, First Church Albany (Reformed), Canterbury House and many others.
A strong belief in the value of the funeral and the class associated with the profession. Believes in giving back to the community we serve. Has always loved electronics and automobiles. Has three wonderful grown children, Christen, Jon (Katie) and Rachel (Andrew) and four lovable grandchildren, Kelcey, Aylin, Conor and Keegan. Also, is a landlord to 9 tenants of Bryce Ventures, LLC, 278 Pawling Ave, at the corner of Pawling and Myrtle, a beautiful 1870 historic home, which has been a terrific and rewarding experience and his residence. Craig has a longstanding, loving relationship with Lynn Krill and considers her grandchildren, Liliana and Anderson, his grandchildren.

David Merrick Cluett, is a fourth generation Licensed Funeral Director for Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. which was established by his great grandfather Lowell H. Bryce in 1917. He is also the third generation for the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. in West Sand Lake where he lives with his wife, Kelly, and their three young children.
He is a member of the First Church in Albany (Reformed) and on the Board of Directors of the Sand Lake Business Association. David has always been passionate about the outdoors, from learning to fish off his grandparents, Helen and Merrick Bryce’s, dock on Taconic Lake in Grafton to snowboarding, hiking, rock climbing, and camping all throughout Vermont and Montana.
“How I do my work, matters” is a long standing tradition at the Bryce Funeral Home which David aims to continue.

Unlicensed Funeral Assistant
Unlicensed Funeral Assistant - James ‘Jim’ Myott, came to the funeral homes in 2001 by way of working for a printing business, auto parts store and was and still is doing maintenance and care of a farm in Poestenkill. Jim is our ‘Jack (Jim) of all trades’. The landscape expert of the firm. Jim pretty much oversees upkeep of all the facilities. He lives in Poestenkill with his wife, Jackie.
Unlicensed Funeral Assistant
Edward Schultz, started working for the Bryce family in 2003 and continues to work at least two afternoons a week. After 30 years of service for the Troy Bureau of Fire, he retired as Chief of the Bureau in 1996. He has been married to Ruth for 39 years and has one son and two grandsons.
While having breakfast at Duncan's Dairy Bar with Ed’s father, Merrick Bryce came for breakfast and stopped by to speak with him. Merrick and his father knew each other from their years at Troy High School. While speaking to his father, Merrick leaned over and asked Ed if he was interested in working part-time for the funeral home. He continues, working on funerals, doing maintenance and running errands.
