We remember the good times we enjoyed together back in the '50's. RIP Sam.

My sympathies to Kay and Dana. My dad used to tell me so many fun stories of Sam, both when they were kids and as adults. One of my favorites - after mom and dad were married Sam would call and ask my mom if "Freddie could come out and play". They enjoyed a very special relationship, starting at age 5. My thoughts are with you both.

A good man. A good friend. A fun golf buddy. We'll remember Sam fondly. Our sincerest condolences.

My dearest Dana,
I am so very, very sorry for the loss of your very beloved dad. I have heard so much about Sam Sr. over the years, I feel like I knew him really well. I am so happy that you had such a close and loving relationship with him, and to echo what someone else said on Facebook, I am more than sure that he was extremely proud to call you his daughter, with your love for him, your talents and your accomplishments _ and that he was really tickled to have his grandson named after him. Sending you all my love, Dana. I wish I could be there with you. I am in spirit. Sending you warm hugs.

Very sad to learn of Sam's death. He was a man whose smile was contagious, and when he entered a room, it made you feel good; you were glad to see him. We hope that where he is, there's a cold beer right close to him. Tinker and Bob
