Sadie Frances Abbott Haldeman

Castleton Sadie Frances Abbott Haldeman, 88, formerly of Schodack Valley Road, died Sunday at Daughters of Sarah Albany, after a brief illness.
Born in Speigletown, she was daughter of the late Edson and Edith Brust Abbott and wife of the late Kenneth Roth Haldeman. She had resided in Speigletown for 18 years, the Melrose and Troy areas for several years and since 1977 in Castleton and was educated at Lansingburgh High School.
Mrs. Haldeman was a homemaker and an Avon representative for 52 years retiring in 1999.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her daughter, Alice McTarnaghan (Terrance) of Castleton on Hudson; her son Gordon Kenneth Haldeman (Gwen) of West Addison, VT; her grandchildren, Mark Haldeman, Christopher McTarnaghan and Janel and Carl Nelsen and two great-grandchildren, Nevada and Zane Nelsen. She was predeceased by a brother Kenneth Abbott.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:30am from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Bruce K. Cornwell, Pastor of the Community Reformed Church of Colonie, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8pm. Interment in Eagle Mills Cemetery.
