Brunswick - Erica A. Ferro, 73, of Petticoat Lane died Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at her residence after a long illness.
Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, she was daughter of the late Cyril Eric Coryndon-Baker and Lillius Dunbar Coryndon-Baker and wife of the late William F. Ferro. She was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa where she resided for 19 years and later resided in Schenectady and in Troy for the past 50 years. She earned her Associate's Degree from Hudson Valley Community College.
Erica was an Administrative Assistant in the Mathematics Department at Hudson Valley Community College for 25 years, retiring 6 years ago.
She was a member of the American Kennel Club and an avid dog lover. She enjoyed dance, reading and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Alison (Raymond Chaplin) Ferro, Stottville, NY; two sons, Kenneth W. (Michelle Straker-Ferro) Ferro, Troy and Richard E. Ferro, Brunswick; a brother, Evan Coryndon-Baker, South Africa; four grandchildren, Amanda and James Chaplin and Maya and Sydni Ferro several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 4-7 PM.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 10 AM at the funeral home and at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Interment will be in Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville.
