Wynantskill - Eileen Woodstock Padvaiskas, 83, of Merryhill Road died Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Barnwell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Valatie.
Born in The Bronx, NY, she was daughter of the late Joseph Aloysisus Woodstock and Catherine Connors Woodstock and wife for 54 years of the late Edmund Richard Padvaiskas, deceased December 2014. A graduate of St. Nicholas of Tolentine High School, Notre Dame College of Staten Island. She earned her master’s in Political Science from Fordham University.
Mrs. Padvaiskas was a social studies teacher at Troy High School for over 30 years, and a frequent English-Speaking Union National Shakespeare Competition judge. She was a member of the Van Rensselaer Garden Club, Albany Institute of History & Art, Troy Chromatic Concerts, and an active member, past Historian and on several committees at the Rensselaer County Historical Society.
Survivors include a sister, Joanne Woodstock Holst, Albany; a niece, Alice Elizabeth (Julien Orenbuch) Holst, Indianapolis, IN; a grand niece, Clara Catherine Orenbuch; a grand nephew, Samuel Oscar Orenbuch and her beloved pussycat, TZU-HSI.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 8-8:30 AM.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 8:30 AM at the funeral home and at 9 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Anthony Ligato, Pastor.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery Woodside, Queens, NY.
