Warren E. Bitley

Troy-Warren E. Bitley, 79, died at Samaritan Hospital on Thursday December 15, 2005 after a long illness. Warren was the son of the late Charles E. Bitley and Helen E. Scott and father of the late Edward T. Bitley. He was the devoted husband of his beloved Anna Prout Bitley, who predeceased him in August, 2005, after 53 years of marriage.
Upon graduating from Troy High School, Warren served as a Corporal in the US Army Infantry Division during World War II, in technical radio operations. He was employed by Philip Morris as a sales representative for 38 years. He was a member of the former Memorial United Methodist Church, where he served on the Board of Trustees and was an active member of the Men's Club. Mr. Bitley was a lifetime member of the VFW. He served as a coach in the Brunswick Little League and the Brunswick Babe Ruth League for many years. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed woodworking and flying remote control model airplanes.
Survivors include his son, Charles W. Bitley, his daughter-in-law, Maureen, and his grandchildren, Matthew E. Bitley, and Sarah A. Bitley, of Burnt Hills.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. David Martin, Pastor of Hope United Methodist Church, officiating.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4-7 PM.
Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.
