Paul K. Phillips

Brunswick - Paul “Floater” Kenneth Phillips, 57, of Brunswick, passed away suddenly at his residence on Thursday, December 17, 2015.  

Paul was born in Troy on July 31, 1958, he was son of the late Kenneth E. Phillips and Marlene J. Phillips.   

He was the beloved husband of Sheila Garmley Phillips and the loving and devoted father of Kaya and Chloe Phillips all of Brunswick, Alisha Hansen of Goffstown, NH, and Kate Phillips of Watervliet. Paul was  brother to Janis L. Coonradt (Glenn) of Gainesville, FL; Ernest D. Phillips of Brunswick; Jerry S. Phillips (Kim) of Hoosic Valley; Mark K. Phillips (Lisa) of Brunswick; Kim M. Erickson (Ken) of Melrose; Kelly R. Hostettler (John) of Watervliet; Dana M. Cerrone (Dave) of Brunswick and the late Kenneth R. Phillips.  
He is also survived by his grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his furry companions Curly, Althea, Jack, Socks, Lola and Simon.

Paul was co-owner of Ace Overhead Doors in Brunswick and throughout his career he owned and operated several restaurants where he was head chef.  He also was an ordained minister.  

Paul was a very laid back, kind, compassionate and generous individual who had a thirst for knowledge, a passion for music and strong devotion to the Boston Red Sox.  He was a “free spirit” who followed the Grateful Dead for many years until the death of its lead member, Jerry Garcia.  Paul’s greatest love of all, however, was his family.  He will live forever in our hearts, and we will treasure his memory, miss his special warmth, the twinkle in his eyes, his smile, contagious laugh and caring spirit.

A funeral service will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church, 50 Leversee Road, Troy, NY, on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 10 am.  

Interment will be in  Eagle Mills Cemetery Eagle Mills.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Paul K. Phillips to the  American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205.
