James Earl Scott, 40

Troy - James Earl Scott, 40, of Sixth Avenue Troy died Monday, February 13, 2012, at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Troy , he was the son of James Earl Young of Albany and the late Leatha Lois Ward Scott. He had resided in Troy all his life and was a graduate of Troy High School.

James Earl was a Pharmacy Technician for many of the Troy area CVS's.

He loved sports especially basketball and football and was a huge Chicago Bulls and Buffalo Bills fan. He was a magnificent artist, who could draw anything. No matter how much he hurt, James Earl never complained, he'd just fight through the pain with his million dollar smile.

Survivors ,in addition to his father, include his 2 sons Malcolm and Marcell Scott and their mother Amy Beckwith, all of Troy; his siblings, Carolyn (William) Matthews of NC, Ethel Ward-Waugh and Jacqueline Lyons of Schenectady, Mark Scott and Jannie Faye Scott of Troy, Jessie Scott and Angie Scott of Albany, Willie Mae (William) Chapple-Michaels of Troy; his adopted brother, Terry Springer; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and 1 great great niece; and many beloved relatives and friends He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Todd Lyons and his nephew Adam Fantroy.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday February 17 ^th from 10 to 11AM prior to the 11AM funeral service with Rev. Randy Anson , officiating.

Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
