George A. Engwer,78

Wynantskill - George A. Engwer,78, died suddenly Friday, November 14, 2008 at Samaritan Hospital.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Theodore Engwer and Ada (Dunham) Engwer and beloved husband of Dolores Y.(Moulton) Engwer.

He had resided in the Troy and Brunswick areas all his life and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Mr. Engwer was owner and operator of Engwer Courier Service for the past 18 years and prior to that was a tractor trailer driver for various companies for many years.

He was a longtime active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Troy and a member of its Vestry and a head usher.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Deborah (Robert) Kuhn of Wynantskill; two sons, Paul (Kathy) Engwer of Averill Park and Eric (Hollie) Engwer of Castleton; a son-in-law, James Coons of Wynantskill; his grandchildren, Andrew Webler III, Robert and Jonathan Kuhn, Ashley, Brad and Cody Engwer, James Coons and Shelby and Nicholas Engwer and a sister Emily Riganti of FL. He was predeceased by a daughter, Wendy Coons.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church State and Third Streets Troy with Rev. Michael Gorchov, Rector, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy, on Monday from 4-8 PM.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Contributions may be made in memory of George A. Engwer to the charity of ones choice.
