Douglas Forrest Green

North  Greenbush - Douglas Forrest Green, 83, of Dobert Court died Monday, December 21, 2015, at his home after a brief illness.

Born in Cohoes,  he was son of the late Hiram Forrest Green and Isabelle Craft Green and husband for 62 years of Sarah ‘Sue’ Rogers Green. 

He has resided in Wynantskill since 1957. Doug was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and Albany Business College and later earned his CPA from the Bank Administration Institute at the University of Wisconsin. He held a Pre-standard Certificate from the American Institute of Banking.

Doug was originally employed by Manufacturers National Bank, which later became, Marine Midland Bank, and finally retiring from HSBC in 1987 as an Auditor

He was a longtime member of First Reformed Church of Wynantskill serving as an Elder, Deacon and Treasurer and for many years was involved with the church  youth group. Doug was a simple and kind hearted man who enjoyed the good in people. He loved taking walks with 'Sue' and spending time at the ocean visiting light houses. He was a Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. 

Survivors in addition to Sue, include his children, Karl (Caroline) Green, Albuquerque, NM, Karen (Dick) Kenyon, Cropseyville; his granddaughters, Simone Green, Albuquerque, NM and Sadie (Fiance Tim Melius) Kenyon, Cropseyville.

A graveside service will be held in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery 200 Duell Road Schuylerville, NY 12871 on Wednesday at 1:30pm. If you will be attending the service, please meet at the Welcome Center just inside the Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Douglas Forrest Green to the Alzheimer's Association of NENY 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405 Albany, NY 12205.
