Anne Marie (Covatta) DudleySeptember 14, 1940 ~ July 16, 2016 (age 75)
Leesburg, FL and Troy - Anne Marie Covatta Dudley, 75, of Ranchwood Drive Leesburg died Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Samaritan Hospital. Her husband, Wayne F. Dudley, 77, died Saturday, April 16, 2016, at The Villages Hospice House The Villages, FL.
Anne was born in Troy, a graduate of Holy Names, and was daughter of the late Thomas E. Covatta and Anne C. Decetise Covatta and Wayne was born in Albany, a graduate of Colonie Central High School, and was the son of the late Francis Victor Dudley and Jeanette Theresa Bauman Dudley. They resided in the Troy area until 1998 when they moved to Leesburg, Florida.
Anne was a Manager for Empire Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Wayne was a Shop Foreman for Freihofer Baking Company in Albany where he held the secret formula for the chocolate chip cookies and was a bookbinder for Williams Press in Menands.
Anne and Wayne enjoyed golf, darts, crab racing, bowling and traveling in the motor home and they were communicants of Our Lady of Victory Church, Anne was also President of the Brunswick Girls Softball League and Wayne was a member of the MOOSE Lodge in Florida and a coach and manager for many many years of the Brunswick Girls Softball League, a founding member of the Pennbrooke Fairways Softball League in Leesburg and an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Giants. Wayne served during the Korean War in the Army Rangers.
Survivors include a daughter, Dawn Marie (Brian) Jones, Troy; their grandchildren, David Allen Dudley, North Troy, Michael Wayne Kasmier, Troy and Katelyn Marie Kasmier, Troy and a great granddaughter, Brianna Hope Dudley and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Wayne is survived by a sister, Gail (Dennis) Dragich, Bemus Point. They are predeceased by a son, Scott Allan Dudley and Anne is predeceased by a sister, Louise P. Covatta.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 4-7 PM.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 9 AM at the funeral home and at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson , Pastor.
Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 12 Noon.
