Troy - Adele M. Smith, 100, of Burdett Avenue died Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center after a brief illness.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was daughter of the late Harry Kirkland Smith and Agnes Wilkinson Smith. She had resided formerly on Third Street Troy and Euclid Avenue Troy, was educated in New Jersey and was a graduate of junior college.
Adele was a legal secretary at Pattison, Sampson, Ginsberg and Griffin for over 50 years.
She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Troy and Ilium Literary Club, the Troy YWCA, Troy Women's Club, University Club in Albany and the Birchkill Arts and Crafts Club. She was a sports enthusiast, a NY Yankees fan, on a bowling league and an avid reader. She loved animals, especially cats.
Survivors include a cousin, Michael Wilkinson and her caregiver and friend, Mary Ann Willetts, Eagle Mills. She was predeceased by a brother, Harry Kirkland Smith and a sister, Helen Wilkinson Smith.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service on Wednesday at 2PM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy.
Interment will be in Ilion, NY.
