W. Clark Agnew, Jr., 73

West Sand Lake - W. Clark Agnew, Jr., 73, of West Sand Lake, passed peacefully at home in his sleep, on Monday, June 10, 2013.

Clark was an entrepreneur; he pursued the sales of antiques, real estate, and photography before succumbing to his ultimate passion in the book business. Clark was a life-long learner with persistent intellectual curiosity. Whether taking courses in history, the art of Tiffany glass, or comparative theology, he passionately shared his discoveries with friends, family, and strangers alike. In losing Clark, the Ohio State Buckeyes lose one of their most rabid football fans.

Clark was grateful for his 27 year friendship with Bill W. He was a founding force in the Capitol District Central Office of AA, where he served as chairperson for several years, and remained a devoted volunteer until his death.

He is survived by his four loving children, Bernard John Clarke of Rome, NY, Amy Jane Agnew, of Bedminster, NJ, Amanda Mavis Miller and her husband Eric, of Lake Placid, NY, and Adam Clark Agnew and his wife Jessi of Altamont, NY. "Papa Smurf" will also be sadly missed by his precocious partners in crime, his grandsons, Noble and Sterling Avellino of Bedminster, NJ. He is also survived by his brother, Stephen Rodgers Agnew of Norwood, NY and his children, Sean, Tim, Liz, Leah and their families.

Join us to celebrate his life at the Faith & Love Fellowship at 166 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, NY 12144 on Friday, June 14th at 3:00pm. Memorial gifts can be made to wilsonhouse.org.
