Sandra A. Durand Lionarons, 64

Wynantskill - Sandra A. Durand Lionarons, 64, of Orchard Terrace died Thursday, December 8, 2011, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of Shirley Ward Durand of Wynantskill and the late Charles Durand and wife for 44 years of Joseph 'Jay' Lionarons . She was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1966 andhad resided in Wynantskill for the past 36 years.

Sandra was a secretary for the NYS Department of Health Research, Inc. on New Scotland Avenue Albany for 33 years.

She helped her mother-in-law make the first Pop Warner cheerleading uniforms for South Troy. Sandra had great enjoyment in following her grandchildren's sports and educational endeavors. Her favorite times were spent in the kitchen cooking a big family breakfast for the grandchildren after they spent the night.

Survivors in addition to her mother and husband include her son, Paul D. (JoAnn) Lionarons of West Sand Lake and daughter, Dawn (William Jacon) Whiting of Hadley; her brothers John (Jack Gendron) Durand of Speigletown and Charles (Beverly) Durand of ME; her grandchildren, Brittni, Morgan, and Joshua; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday from 4 - 7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 11AM at the funeral home with Rev. Randall Patterson , Pastor of Our Lady of Victory, officiating.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.

The family would like to thank Domenica and Donna from Hospice, and a special thank you to Wendy from Hospice who was there from the beginning to end and was more like family than caregiver.
