Myra Sage Shields, 82

Troy Myra Sage Shields, 82, died Wednesday, October 22, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital Troy, surrounded by her loving family, was called home to the Lord.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine Hourigan Sage and beloved wife of the late Frank J. Shields Jr. She had resided in Troy most of her life and was educated at Troy High School.

Mrs. Shields was a homemaker. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Troy.

Mrs. Shields was the cherished mother of five: Diane (Howard) Millington, Stillwater, NY; Raymond (Sharon) Shields of Pownal, VT.; Janice (Melwin) Lamphron of Bethlehem, NY; Barbara (Walter) Sependa of England and Sally (Edwin) Thomas of Glenmont. NY and survived by 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and two siblings; AnnaMae Plante of Averill Park, NY and Alice Sage-Pulver of Ireland as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first born grandchild, David K. Planck and siblings; John, William and Thomas Sage, Eileen Cooney, Kay Burke and Dorothy Bosko.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 9:00am from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenues in Troy and at 9:30am from Sacred Heart Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-8pm. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery in Troy. Contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Shields to the charity of ones choice.
