Mitchell P. Korsak

April 21, 1951 ~ June 17, 2015 (age 64) 64 Years Old

Wynantskill - Mitchell P. Korsak, 64, of Elmwood Court died suddenly Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at his residence.

Born in Springfield, MA, he was son of Mary Shiok Korsak of Troy and the late Stanley Korsak. He had resided in Wynantskill for the past 35 years.  He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and earned an Associates degree from Hudson Valley Community College. 

Mitch was employed as a corrections officer for the Rensselaer County Jail  for almost 15 years and previously was a machinist at the Watervliet Arsenal for 20 plus years.  

He was a member of the American Legion Post 1489 and enjoyed hunting, bowling and playing darts.   He was a Navy veteran, in the SEABEES and in the reserves for 20 years.    

Survivors in addition to his mother include a son, Christopher Korsak, Wynantskill; his fiance - Noreen (Renee) Hartwell, Wynantskill; his siblings, Stanley Korsak Jr., Troy, Joan (Mark Willwerth) Perras, Albany and Gary Korsak, CT and a niece, several nephews, a great niece and a great nephew. 

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday, June 22, 2015 from 4-7 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 9 AM at the funeral home.

Interment will be Tuesday at 11AM at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Mitchell P. Korsak to the Wounded Warrior Project 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL 32256.
