Halfmoon - Margot Boyer, 84, of New Castle Road died Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush.
Born and educated in Schwalheim, Germany, she was daughter of the late Wilhelm Scheurich and Renate (Borst) Scheurich and wife of the late Roger Boyer. After moving to the United States in 1952, she lived in Cohoes for several years before finding her home in Halfmoon.
Margot was a homemaker and for many years took care of her disabled veteran son, Donald.
Margot enjoyed sitting on her deck with a German lager taking in all of the peacefulness and serenity of the sun and nature surrounding her house. She also enjoyed giving contributions to organizations supporting disabled veterans.
Survivors include her son, Donald Boyer of Halfmoon, her grandson Brian (Mariel) McCoy of Albany; her great granddaughter, Iris; her sister, Gertrude Moab, of Germany; and son-in-law, Wayne A. Nielsen of Stephentown. She was predeceased by her daughter, Shirley A. Nielsen.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday, August 04, 2016 from 12NOON - 1PM prior to the service at 1PM with Rev. Randall Patterson, Pastor of Our Lady of Victory Church, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery Waterford.
