Poestenkill - Lionel T. Trevail, 93, formerly of Algonquin Beach Road died Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness.
Born in Northport LI, NY, he was son of the late Roscoe Trevail and Anna Durholtz Trevail and husband of Sarah A. Condon Trevail. He was raised in Long Island and resided in Westerlo. He moved to West Sand Lake in 1946 and worked on Roy Ottman's farm until purchasing his own farm in Poestenkill in 1951. He attended schools in Northport, Long Island. He was a self-employed farmer, worked at Heath Dairy Farm in Bethlehem many years ago, and later prepared the feed at Barber and Bennett in the Port of Albany for 15 years, retiring in 1985.
Lionel was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church in West Sand Lake, in the Couples Club, on many committees and sang in the choir. He bowled at Hi-Way Recreation in Wynantskill for many years.
Survivors in addition to his wife include a brother, Albertus Trevail, Catskill; 4 nephews and 2 nieces.
Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake on Thursday from 5-6 PM with a funeral service to follow at 6 PM with Rev. Dr. Patricia A. Bush, officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery South Bethlehem.
