Kathleen A. Kelly Romano, 72

Averill Park - Kathleen A. Kelly Romano, 72, of Charles Land Apartments died Thursday, April 10, 2014, at her residence after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Samuel Kelly and Helen O'Brien Kelly and wife of the late Wallace Romano. She was raised in Center Brunswick and resided in Averill Park since 1975 and was a graduate of Troy Public School 18 in Sycaway and Catholic Central High School.

Mrs. Romano was a self-employed seamstress for many years.

Horseback riding was her passion. She was a communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park.

Survivors include a son, John May, Sand Lake; a daughter, Kimberly May Schiavone, Colonie; a brother, Daniel (Kate O'Hare) Kelly, West Palm Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Mascen, Mitchell and Veronica Schiavone and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Monty Kelly and a sister, Helene Dupree.

Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150, West Sand Lake on Monday, April 14, 2014 from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home and at 11 AM at St. Henry's Church Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Thomas F. Holmes, Pastor.

Interment will be in St. Henry's Cemetery Averill Park.
