Joseph B. Rosner, 89

Lansingburgh - Joseph B. Rosner, 89,of Lansingburgh, died Monday, January 22, 2007 at Eddy - Ford Nursing Home in Cohoes after a brief illness.

Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Abraham Rosner and Bessie (Fuchs) Rosner and husband of the late Ruth Rickman Rosner.

He had resided in Troy since 1947 and was educated at Brooklyn College for psychology and guidance and Columbia University with a Doctorate in French.

Joe was a pension and employee benefit consultant for the National Life Insurance Co. of Montpelier, Vt. for over 50 years. Prior to that, he was a rehabilitation secretary for the former Rensselaer County Tuberculosis and Public Health Association.

He was a member of The Congregation of Berith Sholom in Troy, the Troy Lodge of B'Nai B'rith, the Apollo- King Solomon's Masonic Lodge, the Albany Association of Life Underwriters, a life member of the National Life Insurance Company's president's club, past president of the Rensselaer County Cancer Society, Troy Rotary, a Pi Lambda Phi brother, a director of the Society of the Friends of St. Patrick and a former member of the Van Schaick Island Country Club for 30 years.

He is survived by two sons, David R. Rosner (Martha) of Henderson, NV and Robert M. Rosner (Jill) of Dunwoody, GA; three grandchildren, Adam Paul Rosner of Washington, DC, Amy Lynn Caplan (Adam) of Dunwoody, GA and Beth Michelle Rosner of Dunwoody, GA; a great granddaughter, Jana Rose Caplan of Dunwoody, GA and a special friend, R. Jean Toma of Cohoes. He was predeceased by a sister, Belle Walzer.

Services will be held Wednesday, January 24th at 10am at the Congregation Berith Sholom 167 Third Street, Troy. A period of mourning will be held at the residence of Mort and Lynne Borzykowski 24 Catherine Street, Delmar.

Interment Berith Sholom Cemetery in Troy.

Contributions may be made in memory of Joseph Rosner to the Ruth Rosner Handicapped Fund at Congregation Berith Sholom in Troy or a charity of ones choice.
