Joseph Coleman Maloy SrSeptember 15, 2007
Troy - Joseph Coleman Maloy Sr., 83, of Gurley Avenue, died Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Rensselaer, he was the son of the late Edward Thomas Maloy Sr. and Hattie Mae (Patterson) Maloy and husband of the late Dolores M. Horton Maloy.
He was raised in Rensselaer and lived most of his life in Troy and attended Rensselaer schools.
Mr. Maloy was employed with Boston and Albany Railroad, was manager of Troy Camera Shop and retired from security at Cluett, Peabody and Company.
He was a member of Troop 68 Albany attaining Eagle Scout, the American Legion, Veteran's of Foreign Wars and the Brunswick Lodge of Elks. He served in the Army Combat Engineers during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
He is survived by his children, Joseph C. (Jo-Ann) Maloy Jr. of Rensselaer, Kim M. (Neil) Tasselmyer of Troy, Coleen (Rick) Sadekoski of Guilderland, Tom (Diana) Maloy of Wynantskill, Lisa A. (John Guay) Fredette of Troy and Mark W. (Suzanne) Maloy of Troy; his 17 grandchildren, Jennifer, Erin, Amy, Elizabeth, Tommy, Lauren, Jenna, Mark , Liam and Cullen Maloy, Ryan Bartlett, Scott and Dylan Fredette, Tracy and Kevin Sadekoski and Justin Tasselmyer; his great grandchildren, Isabella, Alexandra, Kevis, Keely, Jordan and Phillip and his loving companion, Maver Cole of Troy. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward T. Maloy Jr. and a grandson, Joshua Bartlett.
Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment Holy Sepluchre Cemetery in Rensselaer.
The Maloy children would like to thank Dr. Resta and her staff. They would also like to thank the sixth floor Samaritan Hospital nursing and hospice staff.
