Clara E. (Betty) Post

North Greenbush Clara E. (Betty) Post, formerly of Crestwood Lane, died suddenly Sunday at Samaritan Hospital Troy.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Rev. Morgan S. and Eliza Snare Post. She had resided in North Greenbush for many years and was a graduate of Troy High School and Troy Business College.

Miss Post was a secretary for H.L. Green store in Troy and later for the purchasing and audit department of Cluett, Peabody & Company in Troy.

She was an active member of the Third Presbyterian Church in Troy where she taught Sunday school for many years. she was secretary of the Memorial Fund and for many years went with a church group to play bingo and read to patients and write notes in nursing homes.

Survivors include a sister Ella L. Macht of Troy and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five sisters, Alice, Florence and Martha K. Post, Grace O'Toole and Ruth Kelley and five brothers John, William, James, Harrison and Paul Post.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service which will be held Thursday at 11:00am from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenue Troy with Rev. John Mcauley, Pastor of the Third Presbyterian Church, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.
