Benjamin Pinzer

September 16, 1939 ~ June 15, 2015 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Brunswick - Benjamin Pinzer, 75, of McKinley Avenue died Monday, June 15, 2015, at his residence, with his loving and dedicated family surrounding him when he passed.

Born in the Bronx, he was son of the late Adolph Pinzer and Alice Krum Pinzer Thurm and his step father, Albert Thurm and husband of Carolyn Weatherwax Pinzer, a loving and devoted wife of 56 years, who during his illness never left his side.  
  
He had resided in the Bronx for a few years and spent his early childhood in Liberty, NY. He moved to Averill Park as a teenager, had resided in Brunswick since 1965 and was a graduate of Averill Park High School. 

Mr. Pinzer was a truck driver for the Grand Union Company for 36 years retiring in 1995.   

He was a US Marine Corps veteran and enjoyed hunting, fishing, metal detecting, working on antique cars, and yardwork. 

Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Debra Pinzer Valenti, Brunswick; a son, Douglas B. (Lynn) Pinzer, Wynantskill; four grandchildren, Anthony and Nicholas Valenti and Benjamin and Madison Pinzer; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Samantha.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Donna M. Pinzer; two brothers, John Pinzer and Robert Thurm and a sister, Linda Schumacher.

A special thank you to all the staff of New York Oncology and Hemotology and especially Dr. Regina Resta and his caregiver and grandson, Benjamin.  

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday, from 4-7 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 9:30 AM at the funeral home and at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery.
