Anna Prout Bitley, 79

Troy Anna Prout Bitley, 79,of Lisa Lane Troy, died Monday, August 29, 2005 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Edward Prout and Mary (Kirchner) Prout and wife for 54 years of Warren E. Bitley.

She had resided all her life in Troy and was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1945.

Mrs. Bitley was a telephone operator many years ago and a homemaker for many years.

She was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Troy now Hope United Methodist Church in Eagle Mills where she enjoyed working on church dinners and crafts.

Survivors in addition to her husband include a son, Charles W. Bitley (Maureen) of Burnt Hills; her twin brother, Albert Prout of Lockport, NY and two grandchildren, Matthew E. and Sarah A. Bitley. She was predeceased by a son, Edward Thomas Bitley and a brother, Edward Prout.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Susan Schultz, Chaplain of Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.
