New Albany, OH - Zachary Robert Hug 32, of New Albany, Ohio passed away on May 14, 2026 following injuries sustained in a tragic car accident on May 9, 2026 while working in South Carolina.

Born in Albany, NY, Zack was the beloved son of Robert E. Hug and Jennifer Martino Hug-Thibeault, step son to Nicole Rhodes Hug, and devoted husband of 9 years to Sierinruk (Steph) Phongkeo Hug.

Zack grew up in the Averill Park area and he also graduated from there. He spent his career in construction, a field he took great pride in and dedicated his life to. His jobs took him to many states and as far away as Guantanamo Bay Cuba. He was employed by Mortenson Construction and then followed his dad recently with a subcontractor with Turner Construction.

More than anything, Zack was a devoted husband ,father, son, grandson, brother, nephew, and friend. He loved his family deeply and worked hard to provide for them. He adored his two boys Kian & Kamden Hug who were the center of his world.

A member of Chapel North Church in Ohio, Zacks faith and generous spirit were evident in the way he lived his life. Even in death, he continued to help others through his gift of organ donation. Zachary is a true Hero to eight families by donating his organs to save others. This is a blessing and a legacy of hope from an unimaginable loss.

Zack is predeceased by his father Robert E. Hug and his grandmother Patricia Ennis Hug. Survivors include his wife Steph and two boys Kian & Kamden, his mother, and step mother, his  maternal grandparents Linda & James Martino, and his paternal grandparents Robert & Cynthia (Cindy) Hug, his siblings are: his brothers Nicholas Martino Hug,  Aiden Rhodes Hug, Jacob Hug, Jackson Hug, his sisters Madison Hug, and Brooke Thibeault. Along with many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and great grandmother Josie Hug, and many friends.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 12 Noon - 2 PM with a service to follow at 2PM with Pastor Bill Morgan of House of Praise.  All are invited at 3PM to Lakeview Restaurant on Crystal Lake 4 Old Route 66 Averill Park
