Warren is also survived by his dog Lizzie, who brought him joy and remained a “puppy” regardless of her age.
He was born on May 19, 1952, and raised in Floral Park, NY. He graduated from Sewanhaka Central High School in 1971. In high school, he entered and won a car design competition for an original design he had created. Warren attended and graduated from Morrisville State College before continuing his education studying mechanical engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). He earned his Bachelor of Science from RIT in 1975 where he graduated with Honors. Warren began his career as an engineer and project manager at Rochester Gas and Electric. Two years later he was hired by General Electric. As a Project Manager at GE, he was instrumental in building power plants in Algeria, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia (twice), Chile, Shanghai and Beijing, China, and several state-side projects including Sante Cooper, San Francisco, and Raleigh Durham. Towards the end of his career, Warren worked on the largest contract GE had procured at the time, the Marafiq Consortium. He retired from GE in 2012 after 38 years. Warren shared countless interesting and impressive stories about his travels, the people he met, and the lessons he learned with his entire family.
Warren had many passions in life including traveling and camping. Warren and his wife spent lots of time during his retirement visiting various Caribbean islands and taking their camper on countless adventures. Warren loved to sit in the backyard and relax by his firepit in the nice weather. He loved sports, beginning in high school by running cross-country, and continuing throughout his life including bicycling, golf, tennis, and kayaking to name a few. A true mechanic, he could fix nearly anything. He spent years restoring and improving his home in Niskayuna, and later, his classic cars: a Corvette Stingray and a MG MGB. The cars were pet projects he took up in his retirement. He was very talented at drawing and pencil sketches. Warren believed that family came first. He spent as much time as he could with his children and grandchildren. His positivity and sense of humor were the cornerstones of his personality, and he retained them until the very end. He will be deeply missed by his whole family.
