Wynantskill - Walter G. Schouler, 76, died Monday, March 10, 2025, at his residence after a long illness.
Born in Troy, he was son of the late Milton Schouler and Mildred Whitman Schouler and husband of the late Mary Ann Quine Schouler and his significant other, Mary E. Pascucci, Wynantskil. He was raised in Sycaway and resided in Wynantskill for the past 43 years and was a graduate of SUNY Schenectady County Community College.
Walter was employed by the Troy Fire Department for 26 years, retiring in 1996 as a Captain. He also operated Schouler Paint and Paper and drove for CDTA, Trailways, Mainello Limousine and for All Occasions Limousine, Inc. He was a member of the Retired Uniform Firefighters Association, a board member of the Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church and a veteran of the Navy Reserve.
Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly (Michael) Novak, Wynantskill; his son, Matthew Schouler; his grandchildren, Jacob Nolan and Marianne and Jesse McGaw; l; two sisters, Stephanie Whitman, Colorado Springs, CO and Marion Bayly, Speculator, NY and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Jennifer Heggen.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 from 5-7 PM. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, at 10AM at the funeral home with Rev. Karyl Hopp, officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Troy.
