Wynantskill - Virginia M. ‘Ginny’ Kane, 97, of St. Jude’s Apartments died Thursday, February 13, 2025, at her residence.
Born in Housatonic, MA, April 16, 1927, she was the loving wife of the late William J. Kane Sr. who died March 3, 2005. They were married for 32 years. She was the loving daughter of the late C. Frank Lampman and Esther Marion Finch Lampman.
Ginny had resided in the Troy area all of her life, several years at Troy Towers and since 2015 at St. Jude’s Apartments in Wynantskill and attended Lansingburgh schools.
Ginny was secretary for William J. Fagan Insurance in Troy for 22 years retiring in 2009. She was a member many years ago of St. Mark's Methodist Church in Lansingburgh. She enjoyed crocheting and reading.
Survivors include a son, Eugene F. (Sharon) VanTine, Colchester, VT; a step son, William J. Kane Jr., Wynantskill; a step daughter, Debra Kane Janse of Green Island; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren and many additional nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Wesley Frank and Merrill H. Lampman, Ruth Lester, Carl E. Lampman, Nellie Osterhout and Marjorie McDonough and a dear friend, John C. Sickles. Virginia will be forever grateful for her cherished friends and caretakers Zoe & Jack Sickles, Judy Baker and Debra Greenquist-Kane who were always their for her. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Wednesday, February 19, 12025 from 10-11AM with a funeral service to follow at 11AM with Rev. Bethany Popkes, officiating.
Interment will be in Memory Gardens Colonie.
