Wynantskill - Thomas A. Shepard, Sr., 77, died Monday, September 2, 2024, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn after a long illness.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Albert Shepard and Dorothy Miller Shepard and husband for 58 years to Carolyn A. Hansen Shepard. He lived in Wynantskill most of his life and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School.
Tom was a life long independent contractor and owner of Action Contracting, LLC. He was a musician, who loved to sing and fish. He proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Carolyn, include his 3 children, Kelly Shepard, of Troy, Thomas (Dawn) Shepard, Jr., of Troy, and Joshua (Erika) Shepard, of Wynantskill; his beloved grandchildren, Cassandra, Randi, Gabriella, Kamryn, Chase, Connor, Colin, Niko, Sophie and Hannah; and his 4 great grandchildren, Lucian, Raylan, Issac and Lucas; his siblings, Debra Shepard-Dame and Darren Shepard; his sister-in-law, Judy Sapone; and many nieces, nephews and special cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Tracy L. Shepard (Daniel McGuirk); and his siblings, Donlin Shepard and Diane Bayly.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 4 - 6 PM with a service to follow at 6pm with Rev. Edward Kacerguis, officiating.
