Terrance C. Madsen

Poestenkill – Terrance C. Madsen, 56, passed away peacefully Sunday September 28, 2025 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital with his brothers at his side, after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. 

Born in Troy, NY, he was the son of Barbara S. Hoffman Madsen and the late Howard A. Madsen Jr. 

Terry was a lifelong resident of Poestenkill. He graduated from Averill Park High School and Hudson Valley Community College with honors. He worked many years as an HVAC technician at the Holiday Turf Inn and SEFCU Credit Union. Terry shared the family love of hot rods, race cars & motorcycles and enjoyed tinkering with anything that could go fast including his modified wheel chair that could do 20 mph!! 

Survivors in addition to his mother include his brothers: Howard (Linda) Madsen of Poestenkill, David (Hannah) Madsen Sr. of Wynantskill, Robert (Tracy) Madsen of St Augustine FL, Richard (Jennifer) Madsen of East Greenbush, Michael Madsen of Poestenkill and his aunt, Florence McMeel of West Sand Lake. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews: Cassandra Madsen, Alexandra (Alexander) Hladik, David Madsen Jr, Kimberly (Sean) McGurty, Stephen Madsen, Robert (RJ) (Brooke) Madsen, James Madsen and Logan, Riley, Megan and Cooper Madsen as well as many great nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday, October 6 from 9-11am at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Poestenkill (772 NY Rt 351), followed by a memorial service at 11am with Rev. Dr. Rahel Hahn, officiating. 

Interment will be in  Brookside Cemetery Barberville.
