Stephen V. DeChiaro

Stephen V. DeChiaro, 59, passed away on October 14, 2025 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a long courageous battle with an illness.

Born in Troy, Steve was the son of the late Peter DeChiaro and the late Susan (Roberts) DeChiaro Patregnani. He was the Step-Son to the late Americo Patregnani.

He graduated from Troy High School in 1985 and went on to earn an Associate Degree in Information Technology from Broward County College.

For more than fifteen years, Steve worked as an IT Technician, where he was known for his technical expertise, patience and willingness to help others. Outside of work, he loved spending time with his family and with his friends, especially his close group from High School. He was always ready for a good laugh or a spirited political debate.

Stephen is survived by his brothers Peter (Brenda) DeChiaro and Anthony DeChiaro; his sisters Annalisa (Brent) Kinney and Kristin (Gary) Kasavicha, his nieces Felicia (Aubrey) Bennett and Kayla Lindros and his nephews Jarret Lindros, Hayden and Colin Kasavicha. He also leaves behind many beloved great nieces and great nephews.

He will be missed by all that knew him.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Cohoes.
