Ballston Lake - Stanley Edward Clark, 83, died Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Kindred Hospital in Rahway, New Jersey after a year long battle from complications to remove mesothelioma which he contracted in his career from exposure to asbestos.
Born in Paterson, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Ford Albert Clark and Elizabeth Agnes Obert Clark. He was the loving husband of Jean Ann Marie Caldo Clark for 58 years. He was raised in North Haledon, New Jersey, and was a graduate of Hawthorne High School in Hawthorne, New Jersey. He resided most of his adult life in West Milford, New Jersey. Fulfilling his dream of living in the country, he built a house in South New Berlin, New York, and moved there with Jean in 2003. He recently moved to Ballston Lake to be close to his family.
Stanley spent 50 years as a heating and air conditioning mechanic and shop foreman honing his skills to become a master craftsman in ductwork.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, snowmobiling, taxidermy and painting. He used his skills in metalwork to build a functioning sugarhouse to process maple syrup.
His survivors, in addition to his wife, include his son, Michael John Clark, and his partner Brittany Christina McAndrew, and his granddaughter, Lucille Tara Clark of Troy, New York; his brother, Ronald Ford Clark and his wife, Patricia Louise Clark of Hope, New Jersey; his sister-in-law, Joan Loretta Valerie Hardee and her husband Larry Hardee of Charlotte, North Carolina; and his niece, Sharon Agnes Clark of Oakland, New Jersey.
He was predeceased by his nephew Ronald Ford Clark Jr. and survived by Ronald's wife Denise Picarello Clark and two great nephews Ryan Peter Clark and Matthew Anthony Clark of Hillsdale, New Jersey. He is also survived by a longtime family friend Louise Potenza of Oakland, New Jersey.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 12 noon - 2 PM with a funeral service to follow at 2 PM with Rev. Bethany Popkes, officiating.
