Sandra M. (Lawyer) Thomas

Guilderland - Sandra M. Lawyer Thomas, 85, died Friday, January 13, 2023, at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Guilderland after a long illness. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late William Perry Lawyer and Amelia Myrtle Collins Lawyer and wife of the late Roger Thomas. She had resided in the Troy area most of her life and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Sandra was a seamstress at Cluett, Peabody & Company, a machinist at General Electric and a bus driver for Laidlaw Transportation. She was an avid bowler and loved fishing, going to the casinos and was a member of the Versatile Club.  
 
Survivors include a son, John Richard (Pamela) Carter, I, Schenectady; her grandchildren,  Monika (Theodore) Mathis, Charelle (Dorian) Carter-Brooks and John Richard (Melissa) Carter, II; her great grandchildren, Mia Rodriquez, Ellis Brooks , Marley Carter and Brielle Brooks and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Richard, John and William P. Lawyer Jr., Shirley King and Jacqueline J. Miles.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 12 noon - 2PM with a funeral service to follow at 2PM with Rev. Horace Sanders, Jr., Pastor of Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church in Schenectady, NY, officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Grand for the caring service they provided to Sandra over the past two years.
