Samuel "Sam" J. Garzone, Jr.

Troy - Samuel J. Garzone, Jr., 78, died Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief  illness.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Samuel J. Garzone Sr. and Myrtle I. Mosley Garzone and husband for 54 years of Judith A. (Stevens) Garzone. He was a lifelong resident of Troy and attended Troy Schools. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy.

Sam was a salesman for American Steel and Aluminum in Albany for 30 years retiring several years ago. After his retirement, he worked for the Frear Park Municipal Golf Course.

He was a member and 3 time Commander of the Wynantskill American Legion, a member of the Disabled American Veterans, a 50 year member of the Watervliet-Colonie Elks Lodge #1500, and a 4th Degree member of the Our Lady of Victory's Knight's of Columbus. Sam loved playing golf, spending winters in Florida and spending time with his 3 grand-girls. He was an avid and dedicated fan of the NY Giants and Yankees.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Judy, include his 3 children, Samuel (Kim) Garzone III of Colonie, Donna (Kenneth) Snay of Clifton Park, Steven (Kristen) Garzone of Troy, his 3 grandchildren, Rachel Garzone, Ellie Garzone, and Myah Snay; his siblings, Karen (Ronald) LaFountain, Patricia Bloomer and Michael Garzone; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, John Stone and Rosanne Freer.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 3 - 6PM.

Funeral service will be held Monday, June 9, 2025 at 9:30 AM at the funeral home and at 10AM at Our Lady of Victory Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville.
