Ruth E. (Reinhardt) Goerold

Troy - Ruth E. Reinhardt Goerold, 99, died peacefully Thursday, August 24, 2023, at her residence.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Paul M. Reinhardt and Louise Baesens Reinhardt and wife for 68 years of the late Albert H. Goerold who passed in 2018. She had resided in Troy all her life and summered on Burden Lake. She was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1942, Russell Sage College where she earned her Bachelors Degree and NYS Teachers College where she earned her Master's degree. 

Ruth was a second grade teacher for the Enlarged City School District of Troy at School 5 and Carroll Hill School for over 35 years, retiring in 1985.   

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, NYS Retired Teachers, Eastside Seniors, Burden Lake Association, Gundrum Point Association and a life member of the Germania Hall Association.  Ruth enjoyed quilting, playing bridge and summering for many years at Burden Lake.    

Survivors include her children, Nancy L. Goerold, Susan B. (Robert) Draiss, Janice L. Hayward, Diane R. (Edward) O'Connor, David W. (Carol) Goerold, and Marcia L. (Robert) DiBella. She was the grandmother to Robert R. Draiss, Jennifer (Greg) Salamone, Mark (Kristine) Hayward Jr., Stephanie (Michael) Norcia, Michael O’Connor, Matthew O’Connor, Jessica Goerold, David C. (Kate) Goerold, Lisa (Tom) Dennison and John DiBella, and great grandmother to Dominick and Madelynn Salamone, Layla and Aubrey Norcia, Cameron Goerold and Elena Hayward.  She was predeceased by two sisters, Eleanor L. Miller and Margery L. Helm and a brother, Paul W. Reinhardt.

Ruth enjoyed her family and friends and will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege to know and love her.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 9-11 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11 AM with Rev. Kate Drefke, officiating. 

Interment will be in  Oakwood Cemetery Troy.
