Troy - Robert John Morrissey, 69 years old of Troy, died peacefully with family present on June 28th, 2022. A lifelong Troy resident, he was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, NYS Corrections Training Academy, and attended HVCC. He was employed at NYS Workers Compensation Board; retiring in 2008 after 38 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carey, daughter, Colleen (Kevin Wheatley), son, Robert W. Morrissey, his 'cool' grandson, Declan Wheatley, and his 'beautiful' granddaughter, Eve Wheatley. He is the son of the late John (Jack) Morrissey and is survived by his mother Nancy Morrissey. Additional survivors include siblings, Jim, Johnny, LouAnn (the late Michael) Danaher, and Joe (Martha) Morrissey. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, aunts, an uncle, and his feline buddies Ruddy & Grayson.
Bob was a true family man, who regularly called his family and friends just to check in. He was affectionately known as Pa to his grandchildren and would call them daily with advice, jokes, songs, and to wish them a happy good night. He was well known for his happy dance by his grandchildren and enjoyed summers at Saratoga Race Track. He was a former member of the Elks Golf League and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church.
Relatives and friends may call at Sacred Heart Church, 475 Pawling Avenue Troy on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 10AM - 12PM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12NOON with Rev. John Yanas , Pastor, officiating
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.
