Robert Everts Obituary

Troy - Robert W. Everts, 68, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.

Born in High Point, NC in 1952, Robert was the son of the late William Carl Everts and Patricia deForrest Sweetman Everts. He grew up in New Berlin, NY and later moved to the Niagara Falls area before finding his home in Troy, NY for the last 20 years.

A proud Vietnam Veteran, Robert served his country honorably as a radio operator and as an EOD specialist in the US Army. For his service in Vietnam, Robert was awarded with numerous commendations and medals, including the Bronze Star.

Most recently employed as a professional driver, Robert happily spent much of his career in sales prior to his retirement.

An avid photographer, Robert captured life through a lens while he enjoyed time with his friends and family. As a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, dog lover, and hiker he could always be found enjoying the outdoors on a new adventure.

Survived by his son Trevor (Lindsey Sweeney)  Everts of Albany; his fiancé, Leslie Brussel-Smith of Troy and her children, Danielle Swentonic, Elizabeth Brussel-Smith and David  Brussel-Smith and 7 grandchildren; his siblings, Patricia Everts, James Everts, Thomas Everts, Andrew (Peggy) Everts and Judith Everts; 5 nieces and nephews; Teresa Norfolk; and Charlie.

A memorial service for friends, family, and loved ones will be held at a later date.
