Castleton-On-Hudson - Robert Eugene Bowen, 77, of Castleton, New York, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
Rob lived a life defined by dedication, loyalty, and quiet generosity. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Donna Bowen, with whom he shared a deep love and many cherished years; his father, Don Bowen; his mother, Priscilla Briere; and his younger brother, Leonard “Scrappy” Bowen.
Rob is survived by his brothers, Butch Bowen (Betty Ann Bowen) and Jamie Bowen (Lisa Bowen). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews; Theresa Fiori (Jeff Fiori), Michelle Bowen (Steve Marotta), Chris Bowen, Dominic Bowen, Nikki Sansone (Billy Sansone), Vinnie Bowen, and Benaura Bowen. He was also a great-uncle to Ben Fiori, Will Fiori, Lucas Maltzman, JaiLi Bowen, Kaleina Bowen, Dominyc Bowen and Alaina Bowen.
Rob proudly served in the United States Air Force, a commitment that reflected his strong sense of duty and discipline and later built a career as an architect, where his creativity and attention to detail truly shined.
Outside of work, he loved spending time antiquing, going to flea markets and helping Donna with her quilting and clothing creations - hobbies that brought them many years of joy.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Rob had a particular passion for basketball and baseball. He dedicated decades to coaching St. Henry’s CYO basketball, leaving a lasting impact on countless young athletes. He also devoted many years assisting his best buddy, George Brooks, with various teams and most recently the Averill Park Varsity baseball team, a journey that proudly included a State Championship.
Rob will be remembered for his steady presence, kind heart, and unwavering commitment to family, friends, and the community.
He was always good for a lengthy story about his younger years growing up in his hometown, or an even lengthier story about his time in Thailand.
His legacy lives on in the many lives that he shaped, both on and off the fields and courts.
Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 4392NY150 West Sand Lake on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 3-6 PM with a funeral service at 6PM with Rev. Jim Knapp, officiating.
Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville, Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 11AM. If attending, arrive at the cemetery main entrance by 10:45AM.
