Rita T. (Faelbachian) Dekermendjian

Albany - Rita T. Faelbachian Dekermendjian, 93, died Friday, April 26, 2024, at Albany Medical Center Hospital.

Born in Alexandria, Egypt, she was the daughter of the late Bedros and Mary Faelbachian and wife of Leon P.  Dekermendjian. Rita and her family first came to the United States in 1977, residing in California and later moving to Loudonville, NY where she and Leon have lived since 1994.

Rita was a seamstress and fashion designer retiring in 1977 upon moving to California.

She loved gardening, planting and cooking and taking time for her Armenian coffee.    

Survivors in addition to her husband, Leon, include two sons, Mark (Dorothy) Dekermendjian, Latham and Pierre (Diana) Dekermendjian, CA; a daughter, Sonia (Moses) Sukljian, Loudonville; her grandchildren, Nubar,  Levon (Erica), Dominick, Levonshant, Sophia (Sylvain), Natalie, Vincent, Moe Jr, and Christopher Daniel; and a sister, Jenny Hayrabedian. She was predeceased by her siblings, Victoria Ayvazian and Hagop Faelbachian.

Relatives and friends may call at the Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church  255 Spring Avenue Troy on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 10-11AM with a service following at 11AM

Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery Menands.
