East Greenbush - Richard ‘Dick’ P. Hamilton, 87, died Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Evergreen Commons.
Born in Troy, he was son of the late Edith Marion Snyder Hamilton. He had resided in West Sand Lake most of his life and was a graduate of Averill Park High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College and a 1958 graduate of Albany Business College.
Dick worked in many organizations in various capacities at New York State Troopers, NYS Tax and Finance, Troytown Shirt Corp., Owens Corning Fiberglass, Metropolitan Life and Freihofer Baking Company.
He was a member of 109th Airlift Wing, Air National Guard serving during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include a brother, Edward (Althea) Hamilton, West Sand Lake; several nieces and nephews, Carol, George and Cassandra Robinson, Kathrene (Hugh) Wales, Beth (Bill) Wales, Michael C. (Courtney) Wales II and Edward G. (JoAnna) Hamilton; several great nieces and nephews and close cousins, Wayne (Jan) Messner, Barbara Miter, Daryll (Patty) Messner. He was predeceased by a sister, Marion Corinne Wales.
Relatives and friends may call at the Salem United Methodist Church 349 Shaver Road West Sand Lake on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 11AM-12 noon with a funeral service to follow at 12 noon. Face covering and social distancing are required.
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery West Sand Lake.
