Troy - Richard J. Milos, 78, died Monday, January 17, 2022, at his residence after a long illness.
Born in Albany, he was son of the late Joseph Milos and Ruth Hart Milos and husband of Linda M. Winters Milos. He had resided in Troy all his life and was a graduate of LaSalle Institute and Hudson Valley Community College.
Richard was a self-employed draftsman designer for 30 years. His last drawing and design was for the 9/11memorial at North Greenbush PD. His greatest passions were spending his days with his horses, tending to his garden, and looking for the best deal at the antique auctions hearing him quote" I paid $10, I gotta get $15 for it." Rich spent many years serving on the board of Classie Lassies, where he also coached Jennifer and Kate. Also known as Grampy, he was the special guest to all of Emily’s tea parties, fixer of all David’s toys, and also enjoyed all of his Red Sox games with Mason and Colton.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his daughters and “sons”-in-law: Jennifer and David Keevern of North Greenbush, and Katherine and Ryan Teal of Melrose; a sister, Marcia (John) Burns of Lynnfield, MA; four grandchildren, Emily and David Keevern and Mason and Colton Teal; a cousin, Mary Elizabeth Amato of Hollidaysburgh, PA; a brother-in-law, Roy (Irina) Winters, Seminole FL and several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Linda A. Milos. Closest friends include Larry and Sharon Beaudoin, Joe and Margie Morris, and caring neighbors Bill and Donna Crone. He especially enjoyed his Sunday brunches and Tuesday coffee with closest friends.
The family extends their appreciation to Dr. Elizabeth Sandel, Dr. Regina Resta, Erin Lasher, NP, the wonderful staff of NYOH - Troy and Dr. Shawn Jorgensen. The family would also like to thank Rensselaer County Hospice, especially Rich’s nurses Beth and Jamie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 10 AM at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Troy with Deacon Charles Wojton, officiating. You may enter by the upper entrance next to Carroll Hill School. Facial coverings are required at the graveside service.
