Troy - Prentiss J. Hastings, 75, died suddenly Monday, April 15, 2024.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Donald W. Hastings and Isabel G. Prentiss Hastings.  He was a resident of Cohoes and Troy all his life and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Hamilton College and his Master's from the University of Buffalo. 

Prentiss was a Federal Grant Coordinator for Paul G. VanBuskirk and Associates and later an accountant for New York State.  

He was a prolific reader and reading was his major form of recreation.    

Survivors include his brother, Donald C. Hastings, Loudonville; his nephew, Stephen D. Hastings; his niece, Allison M. (David) Fondacaro and two great nephews, Sam and Ben Fondacaro.  He was predeceased by a nephew, David B. Hastings.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 10-11AM with a service following at 11AM  with Rev. John Paarlberg, officiating.
