Brunswick - Paul F. Rapp, “Rappy” 81, died Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Samaritan Hospital after a short courageous battle with cancer.
Born December 7th, 1941 on Pearl Harbor Day in Troy, Paul was the youngest son of the late Joseph C. Rapp and Emma Fedyk Rapp. He had resided in the Troy area all his life and attended La Salle Institute and graduated from Troy High School and Leicester College in Massachusetts.
Paul joined his father at Lusco Paper Company in Troy in the early 1960’s and later became President, a family owned business which is now operated by his daughter Susan.
He was very proud of his Troy roots and always a presence around town. He was an active member of the Emerald Athletic Club, was the oldest member to join the C.R.A.B. Club at age 81, a former member of the Country Club of Troy and a communicant of Sacred Heart and St. Anthony of Padua Church in Troy where he also participated as an usher. He was a member of the Army Reserve.
Survivors include two daughters, Paula C. (Oscar Herrada) Rapp, Chester Springs, PA and Susan M. Rapp, Brunswick; three adored grandchildren, Sebastian (19) and Benjamin (15) Herrada and Tate Green (14); a brother, David J. (Edwina deceased) Rapp, DeWitt, NY; a sister, Marcia R. (John) Keefe, Troy; and many cherished nieces, nephews and dear close friends. He was predeceased by his former wife, Linda A. Zugalla Rapp.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 4-7 PM.
Funeral service will be held Friday, October 6, 2023 at 10 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church State Street Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Troy.
