Wynantskill - Paul Leland Mohl, 90, died Thursday, May 28, 2026, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family after a long illness.
Born in Troy on May 1st 1936, he was son of the late Leland Mohl and Mary Elizabeth Teator Mohl and husband for almost 70 years of Dorothy A. Olchowy Mohl. He was raised in West Sand Lake and resided in Wynantskill for the past 70 years. Paul was a 1954 graduate of LaSalle Institute in Troy.
Paul was a Silicone Operator at GE Silicone in Waterford NY, retired in 1993.
He was a member of the Navy Reserve and a longtime sportsman, belonging to the Hendrick Hudson Fish and Game Club in Averill Park and Sawyer Ridge Rod and Gun Club in Stony Creek. He frequented Doby’s Submarine in West Sand Lake and Kay’s Pizza in Averill Park.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his children, Paul M. Mohl Sr (Kimberly), Stephen A. Mohl (Debbie) and Deborah M. Stroud (Tom); his grandchildren, Paul (Kelly), Nicholas and Randy (Ashley) Mohl, Phillip (Krystin) and Rebecca (Joshua) Stroud, and Rachael Wevang and his great grandchildren, Kelsey, Caden, Brooke, Grayson, Corbin, Jack, and Henry Mohl. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and two sisters in law. He was predeceased by his brother, Charles Mohl.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to Jane O’Donnell (garden daughter), Lynn Noesen, and St. Peter’s Palliative Care and Hospice for their love and support.
In keeping with Paul’s wishes, no services will be held.
