Troy - Paul Malkonian Jr., 84, died Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Hudson Park Rehab & Nursing Center Albany after a brief illness.
Born in Troy, he was son of the late Paul Malkonian Sr. and Flora Sunukjian Malkonian and husband for 65 years of Laura Brady Malkonian. He was a lifelong resident of the Troy area, residing in the same house for the past 60 years and was a 1957 graduate of Troy High School and Hudson Valley Technical Institute.
Paul was owner and operator of the family business, Arrow Cash Market in Troy from 1957-1992 and later worked at Grand Union and Price Chopper, retiring in 2006.
He was a member of several local rod and gun clubs and enjoyed hunting, fishing canoeing and tennis at Frear Park. Paul loved camping with his family in the Adirondacks.
Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Robert M. Malkonian and a sister, Nancy Boroyan and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 2-4 PM with a funeral service following at 4PM with Deacon Charles Wojton, officiating.
Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
