Troy - Paul B. DeBonis, 75, died suddenly Sunday, May 11, 2025.
Born in Troy, he was son of the late Dominic A. DeBonis and Elizabeth Crummy DeBonis and husband of the late Mary Paris DeBonis. He had resided in Troy all his life and earned his Bachelor's degree from Siena College.
Paul was employed as a Tax Technician for New York State Department of Taxation and Finance for 37 years, retiring 13 years ago.
He was a member of the Watervliet-Colonie Lodge of Elks, an active communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church, active in PEF for New York State and enjoyed going to work functions. Paul was a avid sports fan, especially the NY Mets and Giants.
Survivors include a daughter, Laurie A. (Roger) Coonrad, Cohoes; a son, Peter M. DeBonis, Troy; his grandchildren, Kristina N. and Sarah E. Coonrad and Samantha L. (Alec) Christensen; his siblings, Jerome R. (Margaret) DeBonis, Waterloo, IL, Diana (Danny) Holman, Stonington, CT and Dennis J. (Susan) DeBonis, Saratoga Springs and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 2-5 PM.
Funeral service will be held Monday, May 19, 2025 at 9:30 AM at the funeral home and at 10 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.
