Wynantskill - Patricia 'Patty' Ann Sinnott, 69, died Monday, December 19, 2022, at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Patrick Sinnott and Annetta Rita McLaughlin Sinnott and life partner of the late James E. Kane. She had resided in West Sand Lake most of her life and was a graduate of Averill Park High School, class of 1973.
Patty was employed at Montgomery Ward and Capital Bakery and was a clerk for the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles for 30 years as a Supervisor of Traffic Violations in Albany, retiring in 2019. She was also co-owner of Snoopy Ceramic Shop in West Sand Lake from 1979-83.
She was a proud member of the West Sand Lake Volunteer Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary since 1982 and was president for over 15 years. She served as Fire Company booking agent for 20 years. She was always working the fire department for fund raisers, bingo, craft fairs, flea markets, and of course the monthly breakfasts. She was also in charge of hall rentals and catered events. Patty started the Ladies Auxiliary ‘Junior Auxiliary’ in 1990 which still accepts members today. She enjoyed playing bingo, Lotto scratch-offs, bowling and her favorite past time was to crochet. She would make lap blankets to donate to local nursing homes as well as making baby outfits, hats, socks and blankets to donate. She loved her fur babies, Oliver and Taz.
Survivors include her daughter, Kelli Marie Kane, Wynantskill; a brother, Dennis P. Sinnott, West Sand Lake; a nephew, James Joseph Toteno, Jr.; two nieces, Tabitha Warner and Ashlee Warner; two God child, Christopher John Apfel and Ashlee Warner; several great nieces; two aunts, Mary Frances Sinnott, Elizabeth "Betty" Duncan; several beloved friends, Alice Jones, Sue Tarbox, Debra Apfel and Nancy Hartstein and several cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Kathy Ann Sinnott.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and care givers at the Albany Medical Center Hospital for their wonderful care. And a special thank you to Dr. Francisco Lasso and Community Care Givers of Rensselaer County.
Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392NY150, West Sand Lake on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 4-7:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 7PM with Rev. Trygve Tomlinson, officiating. Inurnment will be in Eagle Mills Cemetery Eagle Mills.
