Patricia Matilda (Killoran) Wistort

Colonie - Patricia Matilda Wistort (Killoran), age 85, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2021, at Saratoga Hospital after a sudden and brief illness. 

Pat was born during 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to Thomas and Helen (Roob) Killoran. She married the love of her life Peter A. Wistort in February 1960 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. Pat and Pete met while working as employees at a department store in Chicago. One of Pat’s many jobs was as a docent at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. She loved teaching visitors about the museum and especially providing tours of the U-505 submarine. Pat graduated Saint Louis Academy High School and received a Bachelor of Education from Chicago Teachers College in 1958, and as a lifelong learner she received a Master of Arts degree in Education later in her life. Pat was a long-time resident of Bedford Hills, NY and was an elementary school teacher and reading specialist for the Bedford Central School District for many years. Pat retired from teaching, and she spent many happy years living with her husband in Canaan, NY until his death in 2017. 

Pat was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed music, gardening, reading, caring for her pets, and crossword and sudoku puzzles. Every year Pat took great pride in gathering her family for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Her home was cheerfully decorated with her extensive Santa collection, and you could always be assured of a delicious meal. 

Pat is survived by her children Peter Wistort (Michele Langevin) and Kristiana Daily; her grandchildren Zackery Wistort, Hannah Wistort, Sarah Wistort, Trevor Daily, and Chloe Daily; her sister Dolores Mulhall, and brother Thomas Killoran; and many nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her husband Peter and her parents; and her sisters Shirley Severino and Janet Dujsik. 

Relatives and friends may call at Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy on Tuesday, August 31 from 4-7PM. Face covering and social distancing are required if not vaccinated 

A graveside service and interment will be held at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands on Wednesday, September 1 at 11AM.  All attending will meet at the South Gate off the Menands Hill by 10:50AM.
