Patricia A. (Hart) Urquhart

Defreestville - Patricia A. Urquhart, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Samaritan Hospital after a courageous battle with a long-term illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late James J. Hart and Frances Casey Hart and wife of the late Robert V. Urquhart, Sr. She was a lifelong resident of Defreestville and was a graduate of Mercy High School in Albany and Spencer Business Institute in Schenectady.

Before Pat entered the work force in 1987, she was a devoted stay at home wife and mother to her husband and four children. Pat was an Administrative Assistant for Verizon in North Greenbush for 19 years, retiring in 2008.  

She was a member of the Defreestville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Pat enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, trips to Cape Cod, boating on the water with the love of her life Bob and Sunday drives in the truck with her family when they were young. The most important thing to Pat was her family.

Survivors include her children, COL (RET) Robert V. Urquhart Jr., (Jemma) Laceys Spring, AL, Bridget (Lance) Farrell, Poestenkill, Ruth (Tracy Hirschfeld) Urquhart, Amsterdam and William J. (Maggie) Urquhart, Defreestville; her grandchildren, Robert III and Ryan Urquhart, Justin and Hunter Farrell, Olivia, Callahan, Breigh Urquhart and Brandi and Matthew Hirschfeld and her brother, James (Katie) Hart, Saratoga Springs. She was predeceased by her brother, Francis Hart.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc., 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 10AM-12PM with a funeral service to follow at 12PM.

Interment will be in Blooming Grove Cemetery in Defreestville following the funeral service.

The family would like to thank Samaritan Hospital ER and 4 Pavilion staff for their loving care of Pat.
